Our first “experience” with a Roy’s Restaurant was on the Big Island of Hawaii. We were happily surprised to see one located in Orlando, Florida along Sand Lake Road. They are well known for cooking from scratch and making delicious meals based on a Pacific Rim theme, or as Roy’s calls it, “Hawaiian Fusion.”

Kathie loves the Hawaiian Butterfish dish at Roy’s.

We went to Happy Hour and sat by the open cooking area which is quite visible to the entire restaurant. We always enjoy a place that is “open” and fascinated to what and how they cook. We admire Roy’s wholesome preparation and cleanliness.

We love Roy’s Happy Hour.

We were there to celebrate my Kathie’s birthday, but not to make any acknowledgement. We received our drinks (the service is the best), and toasted the special occasion privately. About ten minutes later, we received a “revised” menu “congratulating” Kathie on her special day. How did they find out?

A small cake was delivered making Kathie’s day very special.

One of the prep cooks over-heard us, and she went out of her way to notify management. Roy’s made the occasion “very special” for us. A memory that we will never forget.

She over-heard us and reported to management Kathie’s birthday.

Kathie loves the “Hawaiian Butterfish” and I gravitate to the grilled Szechuan Spiced Pork Ribs. There are a number of tasty items for Happy Hour such as Wagyu Beef sliders. Don’t forget to ask for the complimentary “spiced edamames.”

These edamames are spicy, but so good.

The bar area and restaurant is quite extensive. It may be prudent to come early or call to see if there are tables available.
