Connected both inside and outside Animal Kingdom, the Rainforest Café would be an interesting alternative for a Disney eatery. Loaded with animated animals and stunning aquariums, the experience is truly Disneyesque.
There is a Rainforest Café located in “Disney Springs,” but this Rainforest is specifically at Animal Kingdom. You do not have to go inside Animal Kingdom to enjoy this restaurant. The only requirement is to get your bags checked by security.
We wanted something to “hold us over” for a bigger dinner. We sat in the bar area with all the different animal seats. This area would be a good alternative if you did not want to wait. You can walk right into the bar area circumventing the line. As it was, there were plenty of tables and seats.
My wife and I both ordered the “Jungle Safari Soup” made with assortment of beans, vegetables, small pieces of sausage and topped with Parmesan cheese. It is quite spicy, which I liked.
We were informed that we could add a piece of chicken for a $1.99. I had the chicken “blackened.” Even though sliced thinly, the two pieces of chicken were absolutely delicious. I also ordered, too, a side of their delicious homemade barbeque sauce.
We would also recommend the book “It’s a Jungle in there,” by Steven Schussler, the founder of Rainforest Café, T-Rex and Disney Springs Boathouse restaurant. It is an interesting read.
