A Few Tips about the Roman Baths in Bath, England
We came to Bath with Golden Tours out of London. Most of our time was in the museum of the Roman Baths. This is one of the most visited museums in the United Kingdom with over a million visitors a year.
We found the audio guide sets to be quite helpful in understanding the various sections and artifacts. We found this museum to be first class.
Having never visited an ancient bath, we found this one to be quite impressive.
We also found the artifacts and explanation of these items that have been discovered to be fascinating. We liked seeing Gorgon’s Head
and the bronze head of the goddess Sulis Minerva.
There was also an interesting and well preserved skeleton of a man in a glass case.
We did see a “Roman soldier” dressed in character walking around.
We would not hesitate to revisit this Roman Baths when we had extra time. Going on a tour just gave you a tidbit of what there is to offer in the Old Town of Bath.
We also visited Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral on this tour, all five star attractions.
