Closest resort to Downtown Disney, the pool area is exceptional
Having stayed in many of the Buena Vista Drive hotels, we found it refreshing to finally stay here. This is a nice alternative to your Hilton and Hyatt resorts. Finding a great deal on-line we took a chance and booked here. We are glad we did.We were upgraded to a “Tower Room,” with an eastern view. We would have been fine with one of the lower “outer-rooms” that are not enclosed. This Wyndam has both options.
Our room was clean and comfortable. The elevators were fast too.The foyer area is quite large and inviting. You could have many groups and not feel claustrophobic. There are a number of shops to check out too. This hotel does have “Disney” character breakfasts which may suit the children and adults young at heart.
What I like the most about this Wyndham is the exceptional pool area. There is a nice waterfall that will give you a good shoulder and head message. The pools (there are more than one) are quite extensive, plenty of water for everyone. I could actually do laps. There is even a restaurant and bar area by the pools.
The second major point about this Wyndham the short walk to the interesting Downtown Disney area. Even though there is hotel bus service to all the parks from this Wyndham, you have the option to cross the street to take the Disney busses too.
The only problem we encountered was that our room key would not work coming from the pool. Maybe the sun ate its’ energy? The maid down the hall called for security and we had to show our identification, understandable.
There is valet and self-parking which is not included in the “resort fee.” Most hotels in the area charge these fees. We enjoyed our time at this Wyndham and looking to come back when the price is right.
