This Monument is well worth a stop along highway 89A, not far from Clarkdale going to Jerome. This Sinagua village was built on top of a small hill overlooking the valley and river. It is indeed a beautiful vista.
There is a museum with friendly Park Rangers. The trail is paved and it does not take long to walk.
Much of the ruins have been restored and it takes less than thirty minutes to see this National Monument. From the distance, you can see the 7815 food Mingus Mountain.
We are glad we stopped as we also liked Montezuma’s Castle, Montezuma’s Well and the Petroglyphs off of Route 179 near Sedona.
