My first stop is always to the free coffee that is offered in a one ounce cup near the front middle of the store. Usually there are four varieties that are offered. There is cream and sugar and it is well attended. You can actually, too, purchase a cup for a buck, the best deal in town.
Tuesday’s is the big day at Fresh Market as poultry and meat prices are reduced. There are some real good deals that go on.
Fresh Market is similar to Whole Foods as there is an emphasis on organic and specialty products. My wife loves the organic vegetables and grapes. Near the coffee are assorted barrels of coffee, nuts and candy too.
I particularly enjoy the “Olive Bar,” with peppers, garlic and all types of olives.
The hot soup bar also attracts us and I always take a look-see at the dessert case.
I find the personnel quite nice and attentive. I do not have to wait long at the deli. There is an Italian roast beef that is quite delicious. The only problem is the deli person has to go around the deli to the front case to get it.
Surrounding the deli are cheeses, sandwiches and a sushi station.
The aisles are narrow and that is something you either get used to or you can shop at Publix where everything is larger. There are products, though, that are only in Fresh Market.
We try to get to Fresh Market early, but we have never had a problem in finding a parking space. It may get crowded, but there is always a space somewhere. There is a loyal following that has developed for Fresh Market.
This market is definitely different than your standard Publix which dominates Florida. We come to be selective in smart shopping of seeing what products are offered at both places. Sometimes we find products even cheaper at Walmart and we make no prejudices that we shop there too.
