“…such a fine sight to see”
I have to be honest, and say I was driving through downtown Winslow, with a bit of rain near dusk, when I saw these men on the corner by a statue. I had no clue. I asked, “What is this memorial about.” I got an earful. Ironically, I listened to the Eagles for years.
You visit Winslow for several reasons, “Standin’ on the Corner” is one of them. A neat tribute is given on this sleepy corner in Winslow, a town of about 10,000 people.
Visiting here brought back memories when I was in my dorm room listening to the “record player” of Simon and Garfunkel, Donavan and the Eagles.
Close by is a souvenir shops and restaurants.
It is indeed worth a stop.
