Patricia Schultz’s book, “1000 Places to See Before you Die,” needs to list Peace Lodge as “1001.” Cindy and Lee Banks have produced a real winner here. We had a two night stay–just enough time. We drove ourselves and made it from Quepos. The staff is exceptional (thank you, Sergio!). We really did enjoy meeting, Alfred, from Holland who told us all about the Hummingbirds. Feeding the Hummingbirds is a memory we will never forget.

There is a butterfly conservatory on property.  I was able to catch (in a picture) the famous “Blue Butterfly.”

Our “standard” room felt like a deluxe room with a real waterfall in the bathroom. The CD player “rocks.” We are in our fifties and we felt like kids again. The only faux Pas I made was turning on the hot water for the balcony Jacuzzi and my wife taking a shower–the Jacuzzi gets the hot water!

The stone hot tub is to the left. It was real nice!

The Laz Paz waterfalls are different than the ones in Hawaii–well worth seeing. The trail to them is exceptional.

The noon buffet is well worth it too and we did have one meal for dinner–very good. I did see their hotel list and they were fully booked for several nights–and it is the off season in July! When we think of Costa Rica, we think of Peace Lodge. Lovely.
