Once the best restaurant in town
Opening over ten years ago, this Outback was the most popular restaurant in town. Long waits could be expected, so was good food.Taking advantage of the “Outback Bowl special” for coconut shrimp brought us back in. We sat in the booth by the bar and unfortunately our service was spotty. Our bartender/server was more concerned in talking to a patron at the bar. But, she did have a smile. The coconut shrimp came out first. No doubt they are “pretty good” being big with plenty of coconut coating. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of our meal.
I ordered the Teriyaki filet “medium.” it came out “well done” and there were only three small pieces on the skewer. For $15, I thought it would be a lot more. It did come with a side salad and baked potato. I remember those large baked potatoes Outback once had. Now, it was a miniature spud.
My wife had a side salad with shrimp. She did not like her shrimp. Nowhere near the quality of its’ sister restaurant in town, the Bonefish. My wife went back to eating the coconut shrimp.
Overall, it was a marginal meal at best. Maybe we are older and our palates have changed?
