Holoholokai Beach Park: Big Island, near Kona

A neat place to visit and hike
Holo 10
The Park is easy to find.
5 of 5 stars

This inviting beach park is located north of Kona on route 19. Coming from Kona, you turn left at Mauna Lani Drive and continue right on the “roundabout” on Ala Ka’a Way. The park is next to the Fairmont Orchid. It is well marked and easy to find.

There are actually two trails. While visiting the Beach Park, why not do part of the Petroglyphs trail? The first fifty yards has plenty of petroglyphs to view.

You can see many of these petroglyphs within fifty yards of the trail.

A nice bathroom separates the two trails.

The coastal route is inviting and scenic. We walked north pass the Nani Paniau Estate.

There are rocks, but not bad to walk through.

A beautiful home along the Pacific.

We were fortunate to meet the caretaker who gave us a good review of the area.

He was actually raised on this estate and land. The guy looks like “the Rock” to us. A neat guy.

Some people continue the trail and snorkel further down. The trail is quite scenic and fun to do.
