The weather can still be hot at the end of September and the beginning of October. Many Floridians—like myself—like EPCOT it when it gets cooler. When you do leave this beautiful park, you are like everyone else, “Every Person Comes Out Tired.”
On the first day of the Festival there are glitches. For the most part, we have experienced computers not working and eating tables lacking.
The World Showcase of Nations does not open until 11:00 AM. Future World opens at 9:00 AM. If you can book your FastPass early, it is a good time to do Soarin’ and Test Track—the most popular rides in the park. Without FastPass, you can be in a line for over an hour.
Every country has kiosks sells alcohol and food that represents that nation. The adult beverages are from six to ten dollars—even for a small glass. The food—usually from three to six dollars—will give you a teaser of taste. There are tables that you can stand at to eat your food. If you are lucky you can find a seat too along a bench. My wife and I have spent well over hundred dollars a day, excluding the ticket. You come there to enjoy, not worrying about money.
If you are not from the Orlando area, highly recommend a hotel close by. We have liked staying at the Dolphin and Swan Resorts. Of late, though, we are staying in the more reasonable hotels along Buena Vista Drive like the Best Western, Wyndham and B Resort. They all have bus transportation to and from all the parks.
The Premium ticket Disney now sells is good for some. Like most people, we like to wander and circle the lake a few times tasting whatever is of interest.
If you want premium seats for a concert, go in line real early. There are usually three shows.
My favorite movie is in France, “Impressions de France.” It is a classic 18 minute film of what France use to look like thirty years ago. I will be saddened if they ever replace it like they have with the films in Canada and China.
We have been to the Food & Wine Festival for over ten years and have not tired of it. There is always somebody we meet, something to experience and a memory to be made.
