We always look forwards to having at least one meal at Columbia while visiting historic St. Augustine. And, we always sit upstairs at the bar. The last two times we were entertained by pleasant “Michelle” who is working on her 20th year at Columbia.
Columbia is a family of Cuban restaurants that was established first in Tampa in 1905. There are a variety of items offered for lunch and dinner.
My wife likes the black bean soup and the Hearts of Palm salad. The garlic vinaigrette dressing is particularly good.
The Stuffed Piquillo Pepper is excellent. It is also Michelle’s favorite tapa too. The sweet red pepper with the chorizo with cheese makes a delightful taste.
My main meal is the Shrimp Criollo. It is accompanied with your choice of white or yellow rice with onions, sweet plantains and potatoes. It is a tasty dish.
We like at times to order the pitcher of white Sangria. Cuban bread always comes with any meal.
There is free parking for those that drive here.
