Located in easy walking distance to the train station, Hotel Butterfly under the brand name of Best Western is a comfortable and friendly hotel. We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed our stay immensely.
A friendly staff member will greet you and quickly sign you in. You will find the weakness of this establishment with the small elevator. It can hold just a few people with their bags. The upside is that the elevator is fast.
There is a large foyer area with a small fireplace. I liked the antique camera display. On all the floors local art of the area is present.
We requested a small refrigerator and received it in a few minutes. For European standards, the room was large enough. The bonus was the balcony. Even though our view was of other houses, it was nice nevertheless.
We found the beds to be comfy with no back aches. There were no issues with sound, the Wi-Fi and the water pressure was just fine.
The breakfasts at the Butterfly was one of the best we encountered in Switzerland. The sausages were extremely tasty and the scrambled eggs too. It was white table service with coffee being delivered. The only improvement I would make is that breakfast started at 6:30, but the hot eggs and sausages did not come out until 7:00AM.
We recommend the Brown Cow for eating and walking the Zermatt trail to a 500 year old village called Zmutt.
The trail is beautiful, and with our experience, the clouds around the Matterhorn lifted for a few minutes for an incredible view.
