Becoming Martin County’s most popular restaurant, Berry Fresh brings to life to an old building that was once Golden Corral and Don Ramon’s. The parking lot is always full from 8:00 to 3:00, the operating hours.
There are plenty comfortable booths and tables with an inviting bar area which makes this place inviting.
The café menu is built around “healthy” selections using local and fresh options. There are several gluten-free and vegan dishes which include gluten-free honey pancakes, grilled veggie tofu scrambled eggs and sandwiches. Obviously, there are selections of burgers, fish and chicken.
The menu is quite extensive and that’s what concerns me. You just can’t get everything right? You can go to the web to view the extensive list of items.
I did have a “Grilled Reuben.” It was big and enough to take home. It was good, but not the best I have ever had. The Thousand Island dressing was rather weak. The fries, though, are quite delicious.
My wife had Egg Whites scrambled with sautéed peppers, onions, mushrooms, spinach with tofu. “It was good and healthy, but needs more taste,” she says. The bowl of fruit that came with it, though, is excellent.
My wife enjoyed the Pumpkin soup with Pears. We both tasted the pears in the soup and the salted sliced Almonds on top brought an interesting contrast. I thought, though, the soup was more like porridge.
There are many items we will order next time like the “Strawberry Monte-Cristo,” or the O.M.G. homemade corned beef hash. I think the Big Breakfast Meal Deal would be quite good consisting of two eggs (cooked to order), Red Bliss potatoes, toast, bacon or sausage and coffee for $7.99. Breakfast is served all day.
Our service was excellent and the wait for the food was reasonable. For the amount of food that is offered, we thought the prices are extremely affordable.
Berry Fresh is the third restaurant of its kind with Jupiter and St. Lucie West being the other two locations. This Berry Fresh Café is a twist on a “healthy diner,” concept. Kudo’s to the owner(s).
There is fierce competition in the area with House of International Pancakes, Too Jays and even with Osceola Cafe. Berry Fresh Café is needed to spark the cause for healthier dining.
