A new section was added over Christmas.
We were given room 42 facing the picturesque 900 foot Staubbach Falls. At night the Staubbach Falls is lighted to make a stunning view. We had the pleasure of seeing this famous fall from our window for four days.
Our modern room had a large bathroom with a walk-in shower. The bed was extremely comfy. There was a small couch. There was plenty of windows and no need for AC. The balcony area was exceptional. We had the view of the entire valley, mountains and even the famous Staubbach Falls.
The complaints was my wife did not like the tile-stone floor. She thought it was a “bit cold” to the feet. We also found that the Wi-Fi could be spotty at times. There was no small refrigerator in the room. The major drawback for some is the lack of an elevator. The receptionist did help carrying our bags to the room.
The breakfasts were ample located right in their dining area that serves as a popular restaurant at night. Everything from assortment of meats, croissants, juices, fruits and cheeses are offered. I particularly liked the neat coffee machine which worked efficiently with one push of the finger.
The village of Lauterbrunnen is ideal as a center of the valley.
Within thirty minutes a train or cable car can take you away to Murren, Wengen, Grindelwald and Interlaken. The cable car to Murren is located literally next door. We thought Hotel Silberhorn was ideal for all our activities.
