Moving from South Florida, the Rustic Inn Crabhouse is located in a well-established restaurant that once the popular Harpoon Louie’s and Bubba Gump Shrimp House. There are a few changes inside, but overall, the same look. You really can’t change that incredible view of the Intercostal Waterway and the 1860 Jupiter Lighthouse across the way is spectacular. We had four couples and were seated on the left side of the lower deck patio area.
Our waiter had an interesting personality, but his service was rather minimal for getting refills on our teas and waters. For whatever reason, we got a hold of an older menu with a lunch special priced at $10.50. That special was grilled Mahi Mahi with red potatoes and fresh veggies. Unfortunately, prices have gone up to $12.50 for that lunch special. However, the original prices were honored at our table.
My wife and 5 other people at our table liked the Mahi Mahi special and one other person liked his fish sandwich special.
I had the Shrimp Scampi with garlic-cream linguini. The shrimp were firm just the way I like it. The piece of garlic bread was a bit too small, but delicious. The carrots and green beans came out perfect.
As we were enjoying the ambiance and the food, we got several whiffs of a “sewer” smell. I don’t know what they can do about this, but it was unpleasant to say the least. Thankfully, we had almost finished our lunches. I would recommend sitting at the eastern end of the patio or inside with the AC.
