As a connoisseur of pizza for many years, it was hard to believe what I read that Pizza Time was ranked #2 in the United States by Trip Advisor in 2015. Even though we had just eaten, we had to try a slice of pizza.
Located right in the heart of historic St. Augustine, Pizza Time prides itself as a Brooklyn, NY pizza. We had walked by twice, and both times the line was out of the door. We had to try!
There are a number of pizzas to choose from—a slice or a whole pie. There is only one guy that was working the oven and he was quite entertaining. At the end of the line is where you can pay. Only CASH is accepted. An ATM is two steps away for those credit card users. For $5 a slice, we thought it was quite reasonable.
Yes, yes and yes, it was that good. My wife liked her Margarita piece and I LOVED the meat lovers slice filled with sausage, pepperoni and meatball. The true test is with the crust as it was neither thin nor large, but tasty and good.
Pizza Time has an incredible taste to drive us back someday. The hype is all warranted.
