We booked here in the summer of 2012 and were able to snag a tower view of the ocean and the Port of Everglades. There is no question the view was incredible.
This year we came during the heart of tourist season and were able to get one of the last rooms along the pool area.
The hallway is being worked on with reinforcing polls to hold up the upper deck. It was a bit disconcerting.
The room, though, was pleasant and large. The room’s floor is completely tiled. The bed was comfy and for only one night it met our needs.
The bathroom layout is a bit different. The toilet seat was about to come off and there was one too many guide posts in the bathtub. Water pressure for the small tub was about medium.
The overall facilities exude the Hyatt flavor. A large foyer greets you with friendly staff. Free cold “orange flavored” water is available. Self-parking is $25 a day and you are about a mile from the beach. I understand a shuttle can take you to the beach area.
The pool area and grounds is extremely inviting. There are several restaurants on property. We choose Grill 66 and Bar for Happy Hour. The Sirloin sliders and Lamb lollypops are exceedingly good. Drink prices are reasonable. The regular menu, though, is definitely of the higher end. The views of the marina, intercostal and bridge are exceptional.
Hyatt Regency Pier 66 would be an excellent hotel for those taking or coming back from a cruise. The shuttle to the port is only $7.
