On the eastern end of Winslow is a small memorial park, known as “Remembrance Garden,” dedicated to everyone involved in 9/11.

It is easy to miss and drive by as the two Twin Tower girders look like poles from a distance. I think it was the flag and the uniqueness of the place that made us stop.
A plaque imbedded in a large stone also signifies the significance of the “Winslow Bridge,” which was one of the longest bridges in Arizona back in 1939.

There are plenty of communities—mine being one of them—that have no memorials to 9/11. You have to give Winslow—a population of about 10,000—kudos for having this park dedicated to those that perished on that fateful day.
