Not on the main street of Duval, this place is easy to miss, but hard to forget. After visiting Key West many times, a local told us about El Siboney. A unique Cuban restaurant exists on 900 Catherine Street, a few blocks east of south Duval Street.
El Siboney is tucked into a neighborhood. It is an “institution” amongst the natives who have enjoyed many meals there. We saw the Chief of Police and several other respectful folk on our last visit.
I loved the Shrimp Enchilado. My wife enjoyed the Chicken Breast. Black beans, rice and delicious Cuban bread is served with the meal. We had seconds on the bread.
The motif inside is of the “American Indian.” You would think it would be pictures of Cuba or even Florida. Having a statue of an American Indian in Key West is awesome.
The service was good and prompt. The prices reasonable. We have been back several times since our first visit. We always make it a point to have a meal at El Siboney.
